Pon Equipment offers owners double assurance with reliable and high-quality products from Caterpillar, as well as customized service contracts.
Virtually every brand or importer nowadays offers the option of including all regular servicing in a service contract when purchasing equipment. In this way, the new owner knows almost exactly what the machine will cost over the next 5,000 or so hours of operation. Pon Equipment is a pioneer in the field of service contracts and it is no coincidence that the service from the Dutch importer for Caterpillar and Komptech is widely appreciated. The customer has a choice of three different types of contract, plus various options for arranging machine maintenance entirely to his or her own taste and understanding.
Lennert van der Pols, marketing manager at Pon Equipment, explains why customers choose a service contract. "First of all, it offers a lot of flexibility because such an agreement can be concluded per machine and can be terminated monthly. In addition, we take work off their hands that many owners find unpleasant. Less red tape means less worry and more focus on core business. A second advantage is that it is transparent, because we use a fixed price per running hour, which is billed afterwards based on actual hours worked. Finally, a service contract always provides insight into the machine through the free VisionLink subscription that is linked to it. This provides access to data such as location, hours, fuel consumption, fault codes and maintenance. Through this online tool, all inspection reports and oil samples can also be accessed."
A nice idea is that with six branches and seventy service vans, Pon Equipment is always nearby and has a knowledgeable service technician on standby to lend an immediate helping hand in case of downtime. "We take care of the machines so that our customers don't have to. Not only within the contract, but also beyond it," Van der Pols states. "Therefore, at every turn, we look at the condition of a machine to stay ahead of possible repairs in the future. Using original CAT® parts extends the service life by up to 50% compared to after-market components and ultimately saves on maintenance costs. Also, oil samples are regularly taken and analyzed in our professional lab to detect the possibility of engine damage at an early stage."
- For those who have their own workshop, there is the Parts Contract, which from €0.31 per hour of operation includes all necessary parts for servicing a machine. Optional fluids and/or annual inspections (BMWT & MSS) can be added.
- For those who prefer to have maintenance performed by an experienced service technician, there is the Maintenance Contract. Starting as low as €1.15 per operating hour, this is the most popular option. The contract includes all servicing, software updates and annual on-site inspections. In consultation, this type of contract can be expanded to include extended warranty, fluids or insurance against external damage.
- The full-service contract (starting at €2.72 per hour of operation) includes everything and thus constitutes full warranty coverage for the duration of the contract, whether it is 5,000, 10,000 or any other set hours.
- No need to worry about maintenance or ordering parts;
- Cost based on actual hours of operation;
- Most extensive service network in the Netherlands;
- VisionLink subscription included;
- Contract price includes 10% discount on parts. In addition, 7% discount applies to repairs performed by Pon Equipment and 20% on call-out charges.
"What many customers do not know is that a service contract can be entered into for all Caterpillar machines; new or used, large or small," Van der Pols informs. "In fact, it has recently become possible to place compact equipment under a contract. Pon Equipment thus offers customized solutions, tailored to the needs of Dutch users. After all, maintenance is just as crucial as the purchase of a machine and its equipment. A service contract gives confidence that the machine will remain maximally deployable. This prevents downtime and the customer can always fall back on a comprehensive service organization and expert advice. Here the following applies: we do what
we promise."
