The government-wide program "Circular Economy" focuses on moving towards a circular economy to be realized before 2050. The ambition is to work with social partners and companies to achieve an (intermediate) target of 50% less use of primary raw materials (mineral, fossil and metals) by 2030. Following this program, OFN from Geldermalsen has introduced its riceflies traffic sign traffic sign.
OFN has been supplying, installing and maintaining products in outdoor spaces for almost 20 years. Originally at stations and bus stops, but nowadays everywhere. By developing products and services itself or with partners, OFN has taken a new step in recent years in expanding its business. OFN has also broadened its focus to new (sustainable) markets, such as sound barriers with solar panels, energy-efficient tunnel equipment, a circular bio-based traffic sign, or a smart waste bin that runs on solar energy.
The rice fleece traffic sign, also called Resysta traffic sign, is made of rice fleece (60%), rock salt (22%) and mineral oil (18%). This sign has the added advantage of being made in part from residual materials (rice husk). The land use and ecology is thus not put an additional burden on it. Because the 100% sign can be reused, after damage or end of life the material can be fully used for a new traffic sign and the circle is complete! This makes OFN's traffic sign the first and only biobased traffic sign in the world that is 100% circular at the product level! The material is moisture, insect and pest resistant, and therefore does not rot or mold. Because of these strong properties, it even comes with an 80-year warranty! Moreover, OFN's signs are fully certified and with its unique properties can be placed in any place and for any application in public spaces. In addition to regular traffic signs, OFN also supplies any image you want on your Resysta sign.
