Nominees for second Techni-Mat Awards known

The nominees for the second Techni-Mat Awards are known. Three contenders were retained for both the Sustainability Award and the Technical Award. The Techni-Mat Awards will be presented at the fair on Wednesday evening, March 9, in cooperation with Louwers Media Group.

All exhibitors at TECHNI-MAT 2022 were allowed to submit a dossier for a chance to win an award. The competitive dossiers were reduced to three nominees per category by an independent jury after careful consideration. Below are the nominees in no particular order.

Sustainability Award

Hydro Store+ (Marlux-Stradus)

Hydro Store+ is a totally new type of permeable concrete pavers that combines the best of the already existing types and eliminates their disadvantages. It combines a closed high-quality top layer and a porous sub-concrete to bring together water infiltration and comfort. Thanks to this hybrid solution, it is also possible to construct shopping streets, town squares, etc. in permeable pavement without sacrificing aesthetics and comfort.

Ecolift & Ecolift XL (Kessel)

The Ecolift and Ecolift XL are hybrid lifting systems and offer a sustainable alternative solution in today's flooding problems. A hybrid lift system combines the safety of a lift system with the efficiency of draining water through a natural slope. A natural slope to the sewer system exists in many homes, and hybrid lift systems make clever use of that slope. Motorized valves close to prevent backflow and wastewater is discharged by pump only in case of backflow.

SUREbridge (CGK Group)

Europe has about 1 million concrete bridges and viaducts. Outdated structures require costly maintenance or have to be demolished and rebuilt. SUREbridge method, based on the patented InfraCore® technology of Dutch company FiberCore®, preserves and strengthens the existing structure. A load-bearing composite upper deck is placed on top of the existing structure and pre-stressed carbon reinforcement is provided on the underside, if necessary. The technology is based on fiberglass-reinforced composite bridge decks and guarantees an extended service life of 50 years.

Technical Award

ECA elevator (A-Veco)

The ECA-Lift anchor is a new and flexible type of anchor designed for double walls and sandwich panels. The design of the anchor, with a GFRP bar, allows to create hardly any thermal bridge between the two concrete elements. The compact packaging of this anchor, already approved for the French market, makes it possible to transport more anchors per pallet. This reduces transport, CO2 emissions and warehouse space. The easy installation, light weight and strength of the anchor guarantee a high level of safety when transporting and assembling concrete elements.

Bracket system (OPDAMO)

As a plumber, contractor, architect, engineering firm or other construction expert, you are increasingly under time pressure. Planning and execution reliability is therefore crucial. This is why OPDAMO developed an innovative & patented solution for fixing all pipes. This system saves valuable time, guarantees the correct gradient and allows you to work more ergonomically by reducing the number of operations for laying pipes. To install the brackets you only need a gas pressure gun and nails.

Audience Award

With the Audience Award a third prize will be awarded in addition to the Sustainability Award and Technical Award. All nominees will receive a place in the Wall of Fame during Techni-Mat and visitors can vote for their favorite on Wednesday, March 9. The nominee with the most public votes will be awarded the Audience Award during the award ceremony.

Award ceremony

The ceremony will take place at Wednesday evening, March 9, at 6 p.m. and is open to all visitors to TECHNI-MAT. The winners will receive an award as well as a diploma. In addition, they also receive visibility in a trade magazine of their choice from Louwers Media Group and attention on social media.
