Mobile cutting unit replaces manual cutting of stones

Manual cutting of stones and tiles is no longer necessary thanks to the mobile machine saw unit. This ensures that stone can be cut noiselessly and quickly by machine.

Municipalities usually want contractors to work as quietly as possible so as not to inconvenience residents. Even with manual sawing by means of a motor grinder, a lot of noise is released. To minimize this, 100% Stenenzagen is one of the few companies in the Netherlands working with a mobile machine saw unit. The company from Poeldijk is mainly active in road and housing construction projects throughout the country, commissioned by municipalities and contractors. 

Benefits for municipalities, contractors and pavers
According to owner Ruben Dame, the mobile machine saw unit offers many advantages for municipalities, contractors and pavers. "With machine sawing, you use less stones, making it attractive to clients. In addition, the paver has to lift fewer stones and does not have to finish (cut) them, which saves time." The benefits for the municipality and contractor are similar. All types of stone can be cut by machine in various shapes and sizes. Fewer bricks need to be purchased, reducing transportation which in turn saves CO₂-emissions. Saw production goes from 2,500 to 3,000 bricks per day three times faster than manual cutting. Less debris also needs to be disposed of because both sides of each cut stone can be used. With the manual method, only one side can be used. All this results in enormous time and cost savings. Dame: "This also enables the contractor to reduce his cost price on cutting or sawing in tenders. At the same time, this scores EMVI points, because the work is done quickly and quietly while taking the surroundings into account." 

How it works
100% Stone sawing uses a low-noise sawing unit. It is specially designed for on-site self-sufficient sawing, that is, with its own power and water supply. The company drives up with a bus and closed trailer in which the sawing machine and all associated equipment are set up. In it, employees of the company perform the work while producing virtually no noise.
