International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Award nomination

'Big step in optimizing logistics processes and workplace safety'

RAVAS is honored to be nominated for the International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Award. Global Manager Marketing, Communication & Product Management Bert de Greeff says: "The nomination is in recognition of our innovative Weigh in Motion technology on an intelligent Carriage Plate (iCP). This ensures accurate and reliable weight determination of goods, and that while the forklift is still in motion." This is yet another important step by which the international RAVAS enables logistics and industrial companies to improve their processes, increase efficiency and reduce costs. "We are looking forward to the official launch of the Weigh in Motion technology at the LogiMAT trade fair from March 19 to 21 in Stuttgart."

The IFOY Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the international forklift industry. De Greeff: "The most innovative and impactful developments in the industry are highlighted. Our nomination in the 'Special of the Year' category focuses on improving profitability, sustainability and working conditions. These are special values that RAVAS adds to mobile roads at logistics and industrial companies, large and small." RAVAS operates worldwide. In as many as eight European countries and in the United States, RAVAS has its own sales and service organizations. In addition, the manufacturer and supplier of mobile weighing solutions has a global partner network. "We provide integrated weighing solutions everywhere, as well as the corresponding service, for various logistics equipment, such as hand pallet trucks, electric warehouse trucks, stackers and forklifts. Everything you pick up is accurately weighed. That saves time and optimizes processes."

Faster counting, without errors

"A pallet of tiles totaling a thousand pounds, with each tile weighing one pound, makes for easy math and avoids unnecessary manual counting during order picking. It saves time and reduces the risk of (human) error. Mobile weighing reduces the number of transport movements. This is because it eliminates the need for movements to and from a traditional floor scale. This saves time on the shop floor. This is very efficient in cross-docking, for example, where products are shipped again immediately after unloading, without first being stored elsewhere. Less driving movements also reduce the risk of accidents and increase the forklift driver's job satisfaction. Keeping and checking stock records also runs more efficiently. A smart link from our mobile weighing data - via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, for example - to the WMS, TMS or ERP system ensures this."

A suitable solution for every application

Every company has its own characteristic processes and products. RAVAS cleverly capitalizes on this. De Greeff: "We supply mobile weighing solutions for different applications, products and environments. From mixing and dosing raw materials in industry, to optimizing processes in logistics centers. From weighing screws, to weighing goods weighing many thousands of kilograms. From supplying ATEX certified systems that may be used in hazardous areas, to supplying stainless steel systems to the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. For hygienic reasons, all holes and cracks are sealed in the process, so that the systems meet the strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards."

Safer and more profitable

Increasing the financial profit margin is crucial in the logistics industry, according to De Greeff. "Many logistics companies invoice their operations based on pallet weight. So if the numbers are accurate, then the invoices are more honest. A customer who wants to ship a pallet wants to keep the weight as low as possible. And while the carrier benefits financially from the exact weight, because it creates additional revenue. Anything he bills extra is net profit. Safety is also important, because if you accidentally pick up a pallet that is too heavy, we supply systems that immediately ring alarm bells. This prevents the risk of tipping, for example."

Discover the power of RAVAS at LogiMAT
At the LogiMAT exhibition, RAVAS is also introducing other new solutions and systems, such as the RAVAS iPT Essential, the world's first hand pallet truck with a patented ergonomic display on the handle. This hand pallet truck represents a new generation in mobile weighing and is designed with ease of use, reliability, ergonomics, uptime and innovation in mind. The updated RAVAS ErgoTruck will also be on display. De Greeff: "With RAVAS, we are taking a big step in optimizing logistics processes and safety on the shop floor."
