Newest generation impact crusher excels in various recycling applications

Within the recycling, construction and agricultural sectors, specialized machines with high throughput are a must. A thriving family business with years of experience in this field is the Van Laecke Group. The group comprises three companies that offer their customers an extensive and complementary range of recycling machines, earth-moving machines, agricultural machines and the associated expertise.

Within the group, you can turn to Marcom Recycling for recycling machines for the processing, sorting and cleaning of soil and stone waste of various origins. The Dutch branch, Van Bemmel Recycling, headquartered in Houten, is responsible for processing demolition and green wood. And Van Laecke Machines offers a range of powerful Terex transfer cranes and an extensive range of FAE brand industrial and forestry tillers. From their two branches, near Bruges and Utrecht, maintenance and customer service is provided.

The new Terex Finlay I-120 impact crusher: a powerhouse first class.

High-capacity impact crusher and excellent mobility

Van Laecke Group is proud to present the Terex Finlay I-120. The latest high-capacity impact crusher is the latest addition to its extensive range of crushing and screening equipment. At 38 tons, the machine is an interesting combination of capacity and mobility, as the entire setup can be transported in one transport. This powerhouse is powered by a Scania DC9 Stage IV diesel engine with 294 kW/400 hp.

The crusher chamber chosen was the Terex CR038 with half-open rotor and fully hydraulically adjustable crushing plates. The second generation I-120 features an 8 m³ bunker that is fully hydraulically collapsible for transport. The bunker is designed with curved corners to prevent sticky material from sticking in recycling applications. It is also equipped with a heavy-duty vibrating feed table and a fully independent, integrated pre-screen. For a perfect end product, it is also possible to equip the new impact crusher, for both demolition and recycling applications, with a post-screen and a return conveyor. In this RS version, the machine weighs 49 tons.

Recycling features

With this Terex Finlay I-120, the Van Laecke Group offers a specific impact crusher, specially configured for applications in the recycling sector. Terex Finlay, in cooperation with the technical team of the Van Laecke Group, therefore built no less than ten recycling features into its new impact crusher. An optional choice can be made to install wingplates on the feed hopper to allow head-end loading of the machine. When a large amount of fine material needs to be processed, the separate pre-screening of 2400 mm by 1200 mm can be used. This pre-screening can be supplied in various designs such as fingers, bofor bars or punchplate.

Companies in construction and road building, dredging and port work, agriculture, green and forest management, and the production of biomass and compost, can turn to the Van Laecke Group for advanced machinery and installations of highly reliable and quality brands.

Heavy execution

At the heart of the crusher is a heavy rotor measuring 1033 mm by 1100 mm. Because of this heavy design, more energy is developed during crushing, allowing unprecedented capacities to be achieved. Start-up of this heavy rotor is problem-free with the specially developed Desch Revox clutch, which ensures, among other things, that there is no unnecessary wear on the clutch or belts. Because the rotor is optimally positioned in the crusher housing, the material -and especially iron- passes easily through the crusher.

Fast processing of materials

The vibrating chute under the crusher is angled at 14° to ensure rapid evacuation of crushed and by-pass material. A specially designed tunnel was built above the main conveyor to prevent metal and rebar from hooking under the engine compartment. The flat, 1300 mm wide main conveyor has a dual hydraulic drive to not only handle high tonnages, but also to ensure proper magnet operation. The main conveyor belt can also be lowered hydraulically to release any blockages. The blower units on the RS version remove the light parts from the oversize sieve box. In addition, the Van Laecke Group also offers the possibility of adding its own permanent magnet for even better processing of the ferrous material. All in all, a very complete impact crusher, designed to achieve improved material flow as well as optimum productivity when processing different materials.
