Madrico forklift driver already wins Belgian LindeCup for third time
Saturday, June 14, Motrac organized the 13the edition of the Belgian LindeCup, the Belgian forklift driving championship. 44-year-old Jimmy Vleminx (Madrico) finished both the preliminaries and the final test the fastest correctly, and can now call himself Belgium's best forklift driver for a year.
Anyone who has been following the Belgian LindeCup for a while is undoubtedly familiar with the name Jimmy Vleminx. Not only did he finish in second place each of the last two years, but this is already the third time he has taken home the gold medal. So consistency is the code word at Madrico's employee in Bree, and that was evident last Saturday. In the precision test - in which rings had to be hung accurately over a hook - he finished second, and in the speed test he was the fastest to stack five wooden blocks on top of each other. By also scoring well on the theoretical exam, he achieved the best overall time of the preliminaries and secured a place among the five finalists.
To decide who would take the stage, the finalists had to build a tower of three balls of seats as quickly as possible and then place them on the top step of the stage. By controlling his nerves as well as his forklift truck, Jimmy Vleminx claimed the right to occupy the top step himself. Here he was flanked by Gerry Van de Vyver from Lokeren (Van Peteghem Bouwspecialiteiten) and Rocky Van den Eeckhoudt from Wilrijk (Coca-Cola Europacific Partners), who finished second and third respectively.
As in 2024, the top three will represent our country at this year's StaplerCup in Germany, the world championships taking place from Oct. 23 to 25. Last year that resulted in a gold medal for our country, so this delegation will be allowed to enter the World Cup as defending champions.
