Infra Relatiedagen kicks off '#werkenindeinfra' campaign

The exhibition team of Infra Relatiedagen - the annual networking platform that brings together ground, road and hydraulic engineering professionals - has launched its '#werkenindeinfra' campaign. The campaign will continue until Infra Relatiedagen 2021 (Feb. 2, 3 and 4). With this campaign, the exhibition team aims to positively highlight the infrastructure sector as an employer, both in the current corona crisis and in the future. "Via #werkenindeinfra we will regularly post messages, photos and videos about the infrastructure sector as an employer until the fair. Perhaps precisely now - in these difficult times - it becomes all the more clear how indispensable and serviceable the infrastructure sector always is," says Roos op't Holt on behalf of Infra Relatiedagen.

The '#werkenindeinfra' campaign kicked off on Friday, May 1, with a short mood video made for and by the infrastructure sector. Op't Holt: "The infrastructure sector does not readily pat itself on the back, which is to their credit. But we, as exhibition organizers, see from very close quarters that every professional is extremely proud of his or her work. We noticed this in the response to our request to participate in this campaign. We have been inundated with fantastic submissions, so not everyone has been included in this first film. But that will come in the coming weeks. The many responses show again how unique this sector is: the commitment, the will to do everything together and they grant each other something. All the more they deserve this warm greeting."

Op't Holt: "But they don't hang this out in the open. We are not going to do that for them either, but that appropriate pride in the sector is contagious and should be seen. Moreover, it is no public secret that the infrastructure sector is struggling with personnel shortages. That is why we want to put the infra sector in the spotlight as an employer. Not only for today's employees, but also for the employee of tomorrow. We are also challenging everyone to join us in setting up this action online. We are also looking at fun initiatives we can organize during the fair regarding #werkenindeinfra."

The timing of the kickoff of this campaign had been known for some time, but it takes on an added dimension given the current situation. "The infrastructure sector has always been indispensable, but this is being reaffirmed in these unreal times. So this campaign is for all those who continue to provide our country with essential basic services in the ground, road and water construction industry. Without them we cannot have our two feet on the ground, without them no one from the vital sectors can get on the road, without them our country will not continue to flow, without them our emergency workers cannot use public transportation. And we could go on and on, but in a nutshell, every infra professional is essential to the functioning of society and the economy. That should be seen, perhaps now more than ever," Op't Holt concludes.
