Today, ten Dutch companies were named winners of the Orange Trade Mission Fund 2019. The winners were chosen from over 250 entries and were selected based on the strength of their product or service, ambitions and motivation to start or expand abroad. The entrepreneurs will receive one year of support in realizing their export ambitions.
The fund is an initiative of ING, KLM, evofenedex*, MKB-Nederland and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. For the seventh year in a row, these partners are helping ten SMEs expand their foreign network through their experience and knowledge in international business. Over the past six years, the fund has already supported more than 60 entrepreneurs with a personal program to gain a foothold in the intended export country.
Below is a brief explanation of the ten lucky winners:
- Baktec (Leiden): has been manufacturing and designing high quality water coolers, water mixing and measuring devices for bakeries for over thirty years. Baktec would like to do business in China.
- Clockworks (Rotterdam): develops and offers a high-tech software solution that uses AI and image recognition to make the administration of analog water, gas and electricity meters simple and error-free. The company would like to expand into Indonesia.
- Easywalker (Amsterdam): designs and sells high quality, stylish and affordable baby carriages and strollers with innovative features. Easywalker is keen to gain a foothold in the United States.
- EGM Architects (Dordrecht): makes drawings and designs for social construction works and gives advice in the architectural field. The buildings have a strong human focus. After its success in the Netherlands, EGM wants to put itself on the map in Germany.
- Genap ('s-Heerenberg): is a specialist in the field of water storage systems, foil constructions and foil applications in gardening and agriculture for ground, road and hydraulic engineering. The international ambition for Genap is in India.
- Graphileon (Wageningen): provides unique software that allows graph databases from different vendors to be accessed simultaneously and thereby visualize networks. This visual application builder also wants to offer their service in Canada.
- HRBS (Amsterdam): provides locally produced herbs that are ready to be harvested and easy to maintain. HRBS also wants to market this edible greenery in Denmark.
- Leadax (Wapenveld): produces and sells a circular lead substitute made from waste for use in and around homes and buildings. The company sees great export opportunities in the United Kingdom.
- StoneCycling (Venlo): makes unique, sustainable bricks from waste used in construction projects by innovative architects and developers. Their international ambition is in the United Kingdom.

*Last summer, evofenedex, entrepreneurs' association of Dutch trade and manufacturing companies with logistics or international operations, was welcomed as a new partner of the fund. They support winners with the more practical side of international business, including export organization, document flows, delivery terms, contracts and the logistics process.
