Jungheinrich receives platinum sustainability certification from EcoVadis for the fourth time in a row, cementing its position in the top 1% of the world's most sustainable companies.
The international CSR rating agency EcoVadis has awarded Jungheinrich with platinum certification for corporate responsibility in sustainability for the fourth time in a row. The new platinum certification means that Jungheinrich is among the top 1% of the world's most sustainable companies. The award recognizes Jungheinrich's outstanding commitment to the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable sourcing.
"The platinum certification affirms our ongoing commitment to sustainability. We have a business and personal responsibility to leave a livable world for future generations. For us it is natural to take this responsibility," explained Dr. Lars Brzoska, chairman of the board of Jungheinrich AG.
EcoVadis once again highlighted Jungheinrich's excellent environmental performance. Over the past year, the company further expanded its climate protection measures and created more transparency regarding the emissions from its forklifts by recording the Product Carbon Footprint for many of its product ranges. This analysis provides information on the CO2e emissions from forklifts throughout their life cycle - from raw material extraction to production, transportation, use and disposal.
As the first intralogistics supplier, Jungheinrich joined the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) in 2024. The global multi-stakeholder initiative is committed to making mining more socially and environmentally friendly. As part of its lithium-ion strategy, Jungheinrich particularly wants to promote the sustainable extraction of lithium. Joining underscores the company's commitment to greater transparency and safety in sourcing raw materials.
EcoVadis is considered one of the leading institutions worldwide for assessing corporate responsibility. In total, EcoVadis analyzes the sustainability management of more than 150,000 companies worldwide in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Only the most sustainable 1% of companies receive platinum certification.
