Exotec reaches milestone of $1 billion in systems sold

The warehouse robotics specialist, founded in 2015, is one of the fastest material handling companies to reach this milestone

Today (March 12, 2024) announces Exotec, global supplier of warehouse robots, to that the company has sold more than $1 billion worth of systems globally. This makes it one of the fastest material handling companies to reach this milestone. This illustrates the rapid implementation of Exotec technology since the company was founded in 2015.

"Achieving the milestone of $1 billion in systems sold shows that our approach to warehouse automation stands out and resonates strongly with our customers.", says Romain Moulin, CEO and co-founder of Exotec"We are fully inventing a new industry that has traditionally relied on outdated automation that cannot withstand business fluctuations, is difficult to maintain and expensive to integrate. Our steady growth shows that flexibility and reliable performance are essential for supply chain leaders around the world."

Christian Resch, partner in Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Asset Management: "Exotec has proven its ability to execute large-scale projects and deliver great value to customers. This has allowed the company to expand, strengthen relationships with major customers and grow revenue. We believe Exotec is well positioned for future growth, given the continued need to integrate technology and automation into the global warehouse industry."

Leading brands such as Gap Inc., Decathlon and UNIQLO rely on and invest in Exotec's signature Skypod System to help manage challenging business changes. Meanwhile, Exotec also has several customers in the Benelux, including Eltra in Evergem (Ghent), Auchan Retail Luxembourg, CEVA Logistics (Venray) and Lyreco (Vottem). Worldwide, Exotec has already installed its systems in more than 4.5 million warehouses.

Exotec's key highlights en route to $1 billion systems sold:

  • Global expansion: The company recently expanded its presence into new markets, including Eastern Europe and South Korea. Exotec also opened a manufacturing facility in Croix, France late last year, supporting the ongoing development of its product roadmap. The company reaches more than 100 customer locations worldwide and has experienced record growth in key regions such as APAC, Europe and North America.
  • More staff: To support its growing customer base, Exotec increased its global workforce by 80% last year to 850+ employees worldwide. This is remarkable compared to the rest of the material handling industry, which shrank by 2023.
  • Reinvestment in R&D: Exotec is investing heavily in research and development of new solutions (10% of annual sales) to maintain a competitive pipeline of new innovations to address customers' most pressing pain points. By 2024, Exotec plans to hire nearly 100 R&D professionals worldwide.
