EUTRACO chooses Körber Supply Chain for warehouse automation in Roeselare

EUTRACO, a leading logistics service provider (3PL) in Belgium, has selected Körber Supply Chain as the automation partner for a distribution center in Krommebeek, Roeselare. This project marks a milestone in EUTRACO's strategic pursuit of full warehouse automation. The solution designed by Körber enables full automation of pallet handling, from automatic unloading on arrival to automatic storage and delivery to loading bays for outbound distribution.

High throughput

To meet the high throughput of the new site while maximizing storage density, Körber proposed an efficient system based on Rail Guided Vehicles (RGVs) for distributing pallets to multiple warehouse cranes, combined with shuttles for multi-deep pallet storage. This approach optimizes both throughput and storage density, allowing the facility to handle large volumes flexibly and accurately. The solution is optimized by Körber's WCS, which integrates seamlessly with automated systems to improve operational efficiency. Körber's software provides real-time tracking of goods and user-friendly interfaces for operators, including visualization and monitoring applications for the system.

Speed, reliability and scalability

"At EUTRACO, our priority is to continuously improve service speed, reliability and operational scalability for our customers," said Serge Gregoir, CEO of EUTRACO. "With growing volumes and increasing complexity in logistics, we needed a solution that supports high throughput, optimizes space utilization and future-proofs our processes. Körber's automation concept matched these needs perfectly, allowing us to build a warehouse that reflects our ambition to be a leader in efficiency and innovation."

EUTRACO's decision to partner with Körber resulted from several key factors. Körber offered the most competitive price per pallet and used a robust, proven technology that has already been used in several successful installations in Europe. Furthermore, the modularity and scalability of Körber's solution, adaptable to any warehouse height or area, provided the flexibility EUTRACO needed for future growth. The system's fast response times also make it particularly suited to the dynamic nature of 3PL operations.

Pushing boundaries of automation

Filip Van den Broeke, Manager BeNeLux at Körber Supply Chain, emphasizes how "this project shows what is possible when a 3PL like EUTRACO is ready to push the boundaries of automation. They came to us with clear goals in terms of speed, space and scalability, and we delivered a solution that met all those requirements. What makes this project especially interesting for us is that it also reflects Körber's strong dynamics in the Benelux, where more and more companies are looking for smart, future-proof warehouse systems."

This project highlights Körber's leadership in warehouse automation and demonstrates how advanced technology can be tailored to the specific needs of third-party logistics providers. It also demonstrates Körber's commitment to delivering scalable, high-performance solutions that future-proof supply chains across Europe.
