engcon launches lightweight pallet forks for excavators from 2-6 tons

In spring 2022, rotary attachment manufacturer engcon will launch lightweight pallet forks for excavators in the 2-6 ton weight class. This continuously expands the applicability of compact machines and contributes to higher efficiency and profitability.

With a swivel tilt attachment on the excavator, the application possibilities increase significantly. The ability to tilt and rotate the bucket, together with a wide range of accessories to attach under the pivot attachment, transforms the excavator into a smart tool carrier. engcon is constantly developing new products and can now provide one of the widest ranges of attachments for excavators from 1.5-33 tons.

engcon has had pallet forks for excavators in its portfolio for many years, and their use for material handling with excavators on construction sites has become increasingly popular. In response to increased demand, engcon has now developed lightweight pallet forks for excavators from 2-6 tons.

"Pallet forks as a tool will soon be as common as the bucket on excavators, " believes designer Mikolaj Tepper, who has been involved in the development of the new pallet forks.

The new, lightweight pallet forks are available in two versions, hydraulic and mechanical, and can handle a load of 2 tons TP500, or a load of 2 tons at 500 mm from the rear edge of the forks. Weights are 141 kg for the mechanical and 151 kg for the hydraulic pallet forks, and the standard length of the forks is 800 mm.

The hydraulic version is adapted for engcons automatic quick-change EC-Oil system, which allows the operator to automatically connect the pallet forks and hydraulics without leaving the cab.

"The hydraulic pallet forks with EC-Oil fit perfectly with our new EC206, which this year was equipped with our automatic quick change," continued Mikolaj Tepper.

The new lightweight pallet forks will be presented at several trade shows later this year and series production is scheduled for the end of this year.
