The current Corona pandemic has caused machine trade shows around the world to be canceled or postponed. However, such trade shows are crucial for demonstrating novelties and product applications. Engcon is therefore organizing its own digital live show. During this show, recent innovations and key products that make excavators more efficient will be demonstrated.
For many industries, visits to leading trade shows and demonstrations are important to their service and sales strategy. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has meant that such events around the world cannot take place. Trade show participation, as well as organizing our own demo days, is an important part of Engcons strategy to reach customers. Personal contact is particularly appreciated, as our technical products are best demonstrated during a live demonstration. Engcon's digital show is a new interpretation of demonstrations in these times of keeping distance.
"Our end customers immediately understand the benefits once they see our products "in action" with their own eyes. They know the industry, their machines and their applications. When they see how quickly they can change between different hydraulic attachments without having to get out of the cab, thanks to the EC-Oil automatic quick-change system, they can immediately translate to how this can improve their daily work. We want them to be able to continue to experience this even if we can't meet live," says Krister Blomgren, CEO of Engcon.
The situation and rules of conduct vary from country to country, but in general, crowds must be avoided and almost all fairs are canceled. Restrictions and limitations cause people to spend more time at home, as they may not or cannot go to work. Businesses are slowing down and the economy is in danger of taking a major hit. While together we are trying to stop the spread of infections, Engcon, on the contrary, also wants to continue to look to the future and create the conditions for the survival of businesses even after the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Now is the time to think differently, instead of saying no! We would like to find new forms to communicate with our end customers. Our trade show participations around the world with accompanying demos are always very popular. That's why we now offer them digitally, via live streaming from our Swedish location," Krister Blomgren says and he continues:
"We are going to set up a small exhibition area in Strömsund at our production site. There we will then demonstrate our products on an excavator and will connect with different markets together with our local sales teams. Germany, for example, will get a product presentation from our German colleagues in German and so on.
Engcon sees it as a first test to "meet" its end customers digitally, despite the limitations currently in place.
"We all need to look ahead and think about what solutions and investments are needed in the future to make our businesses more competitive and resilient," concludes Krister Blomgren.
First, an international digital live show will take place on June 11 at 20:00 (CEST). This will be followed by a series of market-specific digital live shows, whose air times are still to be determined. This information will be published on Engcon's country-specific Facebook pages.
