After an intensive period of development and testing, TOBROCO-GIANT is the first European manufacturer to receive approval from Honda Engines to put an electric vibratory plate into production. The GIANT GP1950E is TOBROCO-GIANT's first electric compaction machine and signals the start of a complete line of electric vibratory rammers and vibratory plates.
The electric-powered GIANT GP1950E has a motor power of 1.6 kW and is specially designed for heavy-duty work. Namely, the vibratory plate weighs 103 kg and has a striking force of 19.1 kN. Depending on the soil, this provides a speed of 32 m/min. This makes the performance equivalent to the diesel and gasoline versions (GP1950B and GP1950D).
The lack of emissions makes the vibratory plate ideal for work in inner cities, residential areas and around schools. But the lack of emissions also allows the GIANT GP1950E to be used in trenches and tunnels as the user and bystanders can work in clean air.
The new electric motor from Honda was chosen as the drive unit. The engine manufacturer is known for its reliability, and TOBROCO-GIANT's vibratory plates and vibratory rammers have been equipped with gasoline engines from the Japanese brand for many years.
With the GXE2.0H motor and lithium-ion battery, Honda is forging the path of electric motors that ensure the GIANT GP1950E delivers the right performance and is easy to charge. The battery is positioned so that it can be easily replaced for a full one. As work continues, the battery can be charged within one hour for 80% via a 230V quick charger.
