Efficient intralogistics processes thanks to innovative mobile weighing systems

Mobile weighing systems are indispensable for future-proof companies that want to make their logistics processes more efficient and cost-effective. Are you curious how quickly a mobile weighing system can pay for itself? Steve Vanopphem illustrates this through a simple calculation example. "Suppose you weigh an average of four pallets per hour. By using mobile weighing technology, built into a truck in which you transport the pallets, you save an average of one and a half minutes per pallet. This accounts for a daily savings of 48 minutes or 200 man-hours per year. For example, if one man-hour costs 25 euros, you save 5,000 euros per year. So investing in mobile weighing technology pays for itself very quickly."

Towards future-proof intralogistics

"Modern logistics is all about managing material flows," Steve knows. "To make those material flows as efficient as possible and keep costs as low as possible, you need to constantly gather as much information as possible about those material flows. How much inventory do you have of a particular material? Where is it located? Where does it come from and where does it go? Where was it produced?... If we make such info continuously available to all stakeholders, we succeed in fully integrating material flows and information flows."

In the case of order picking, you check each order line and correct any errors where it costs least, namely at the article location. So it is no longer necessary to drive back and forth with pallets or containers to a fixed scale."
