Doosan and Engcon invest together in Europe

Doosan and Engcon have signed an agreement to expand their European cooperation. Next fall, the first Doosan excavators will be delivered factory-equipped for Engcon's swivel tilt attachments, control system and quick couplings.

This cooperation means that excavator manufacturer Doosan in Europe will prepare its excavators ex-factory for control systems, turntables and quick couplings from Engcon, the world leader in turntables. The first prepared excavators from Doosan will leave the factory this fall.

"The advantage for the end user is that we can deliver faster - the excavator they buy is already ready for an Engcon pivot attachment. This is an important step in our commitment to serving customers," says Krister Blomgren, managing director of Engcon.

A rotary tilt piece can improve the effectiveness of excavation operations up to 50%. Aspects such as improved safety and reduced environmental impact are also strong arguments for using rotary tilt-piece technology. More and more markets are seeing the potential in Engcon's products and how they develop work and make it more efficient. The long-term goal is an expansion of this cooperation, which ultimately applies not only to Europe, but to the entire world.

"Our products used to be seen as a Scandinavian phenomenon, but now a clear trend is that the rest of Europe is also using swivels and our systems. Then prepared excavators are a convenient way to serve end users," says Krister Blomgren, managing director of Engcon.

Both Doosan and Engcon see the excavator as a carrier of attachments replacing other machines. By using an automatic quick coupler in combination with a pivot attachment, it is simple to change attachments. This offers much more flexibility and a more efficient way of working.

Doosan Infracore Europe Marketing Communications Manager, Kevin Lynch, added: "We are delighted to be working with Engcon as our partner for control systems and turntables. Given the strong growth in the market, our partnership leads to increased labor effectiveness needed to meet the demands of our dealers and customers.

The cooperation also means that Doosan and Engcon will jointly participate in several trade shows and events. The first official, joint event is Quarry Days in Prague (Czech Republic) from Sept. 17 - 19. An event for specially invited dealers from all over Europe, with the opportunity to test different machines, and to learn more about new technology and to be able to ask questions about the products on offer.
