Defense chooses internal transport equipment from Motrac

Motrac is proud to announce that the tender for the supply of nearly 700 Linde lift and warehouse trucks has been awarded to Motrac. On October 3, our cooperation agreement was signed by Brigadier General Dick van Broekhoven, Director of Materiel & Services of the Royal Netherlands Army and Geurt de Groot, Managing Director of Motrac Intern Transport.

Tender process

Various facets were considered during the tender process, such as being able to deliver the total scope required, offering the right service and combining the right price/quality of the equipment to be supplied. Over the next few years, a large number of electric forklift trucks, electric pallet trucks, stackers and reach trucks will be supplied to the Royal Netherlands Army, Air Force and Navy for various operations.

Sustainable solutions for the future

General Van Broekhoven emphasizes the importance of structural cooperation between Dutch companies and Defense. We contribute to security together. It is great that Motrac also feels this responsibility and puts its shoulders to the wheel. With this delivery, Motrac is also part of the sustainable transition within Defense. By switching completely to electric trucks from Linde, the Ministry of Defense is making a big step towards sustainability. In recent years they have already phased out the use of diesel-powered internal transport. The delivery of the electric Linde lift and warehouse trucks not only contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions, but also ensures a more efficient and environmentally friendly truck fleet. With this, Defence is taking the next step towards a greener and more efficient logistics infrastructure.

Unburdening

For the next ten years Motrac will relieve the Ministry of Defense from the deployment and maintenance of the supplied internal transport equipment. This way Motrac ensures that optimal availability of the material handling equipment is and remains guaranteed.
