Plastibac's Sleeve Box: versatile, stackable and efficiently foldable container

In previous editions of this magazine, you were introduced to Plastibac's wide range of plastic bins, containers and pallets. Their cooperation with the West-Flemish custom-made company OptimaT was also in the spotlight. For this article, we asked account manager Brecht Corty about the operation, advantages and application possibilities of their popular Sleeve Boxes. This innovative collapsible container combines versatility, efficiency and durability.

"The basic principle of the Sleeve Box is simple," said Brecht. "This load carrier - made entirely of durable, weather-resistant plastic - is composed of a pallet, a folding sleeve and a lid. The pallet is available on four or nine legs and three drag slats. The 800×600 version also has (brakeable) wheels. The sleeve can be snapped onto the pallet or fitted into a pallet slot. As for the lid, you can choose a box where you place the lid on the sleeve without attaching it, or one where you snap the lid on."

INNOVATIVE, SPACE-SAVING AND VERY STURDY

"Despite its simplicity, the Sleeve Box is innovative. It is very easy to place and remove, allowing you to set up and take down this load carrier quickly and efficiently. One of the biggest advantages of the box is the gain in storage space. After all, when the containers are not in use, you can put the sleeves folded up on the pallet, dust-free under the lid. This way, you can easily stack them. This takes up significantly less space than traditional rigid boxes, and that results in lower storage and transportation costs. When fully unfolded, you can stack up to six Sleeve Boxes on top of each other, depending on the type and weight."

Flexible and reusable

Another advantage of Plastibac's Sleeve Box is its durable nature and reusability. 

"The sleeves are made of sturdy plastic that can withstand wear and tear and long-term use," confirms Brecht. "This makes them an environmentally friendly alternative to single-use packaging solutions. Moreover, you can easily clean and maintain them, which further extends their lifespan."

The flexibility of the Sleeve Boxes is also a big plus according to Brecht: "We offer them in different sizes with also different sleeve heights, tailored to specific customer needs. This makes them suitable for packing a wide range of products, from small parts to larger goods. Euronorm sizes range from 800×600 to 1200×800, as well as block size 1200×1000. You can load the containers up to 500 kilograms (dynamically) and up to 1200 kilograms stacked on the bottom box."

Efficient storage and transportation

An added convenience is the built-in, ergonomic folding door in the sleeve. The lid also features ergonomic handles. An added bonus is the possibility of providing a label holder or personalized printing on the boxes. This also attracts a lot of customers. "In practice, our Sleeve Boxes are mainly used for internal transport between companies of the same corporate group," says Brecht. "After all, empty boxes stacked on top of each other ensure efficient transport flows. They are easy to move by forklift and transpallet. And thanks to their sturdy construction, they protect the contents well, minimizing damage and loss." Sleeve Boxes are used in numerous industries, including automotive, logistics, retail and manufacturing.
