Voorbij Funderingstechniek welcomes: Volvo FH16 truck

A brand new Volvo FH16 truck has been delivered to Voorbij Funderingstechniek in Amsterdam. A moment long awaited by driver Dennis Knook. The truck is a model with an economical Euro 6 engine, which fits well with Voorbij Funderingstechniek's vision of sustainability. The Volvo brand was chosen to ensure fleet unity. But what exactly does this truck look like and why did Voorbij Funderingstechniek make this purchase?

The proposal

When we speak to Dennis about "his" green monster, he beams from head to toe. Because Dennis has been looking forward to this for a long time. The first plans were already on the table with the management a year ago. He was allowed to submit a proposal and start this project. ''My previous car had a Euro5 emission engine and because of the tightened environmental standards I was no longer allowed to enter the city''. ''At Voorbij we think about the environment and surroundings, so the old truck no longer fit the bill''.

The truck

The Volvo FH16 8x 4T truck is equipped with a more fuel-efficient Euro6 version D engine. The truck is a 4-axle heavy haul tractor with as much as 650 HP. This means that the truck can carry up to 130 tons of total weight. Our Volvo dealer in Zwaag has been very supportive throughout this process and has carefully put together the truck with us; for example, the truck is equipped with a 10-ton air-suspended front axle. Behind the cab, custom-made stainless steel boxes were mounted by Vlarotech, containing a hydraulic and diesel tank. The final exterior finish was provided by Volvo and HTH truck accessories. The interior by M&M Truckdesign.

Beyond green

The truck was completely painted and stickered 'Beyond Green' and the accompanying semi-low loader with autocrane was completely refurbished by Kamphuis Nijverdal. As a result, the combination is as good as new again. The cooperation with all parties went very well, which resulted in a beautiful end result. With this truck, driver Dennis and thus the company can travel many safe kilometers again.
