The logistics sector is facing various challenges such as digitalization, shortage of technicians, economically uncertain times and the energy transition. "Companies can distinguish themselves by offering flexibility, high reliability, fast delivery times and competitive prices. Compact and scalable sorting systems can help," says Floris Hendriks, sales/marketing manager for Farma Sort and Collo-X. For the logistics sector, they developed the MicroSorter, an efficient solution for future-proof logistics.
In March 2024, by Collo-X and Farma Sort, the MicroSorter was officially launched. "Since then, there has been a lot of interest in this compact and modular sorting system," says sales/marketing manager Floris Hendriks at Farma Sort and Collo-X, which specializes in providing for a wide range of logistics challenges and attracts companies looking to optimize their processes.
"The MicroSorter is a sorting system capable of processing up to 1,500 products per hour into both small and larger packages. Manual sorting can be ideal for small volumes but automatic sorting offers extra convenience by using sensors to check that the instructions given are carried out correctly. Where necessary, the machine makes adjustments to minimize the margin of error in sorting. This leads to high reliability and significant time savings while employees can focus on strategic tasks, such as improving customer relations or optimizing other processes. The combination of speed and accuracy allows companies to continue to grow without significantly increasing operational costs."
The design is compact, flexible and therefore fits into warehouses with limited space. "The great advantage of this sorting system is its versatility," states Hendriks. "The system can be easily integrated into existing logistics processes with Pusher, Shoe and Crossbelt Sorters or deployed as a standalone solution. The modular design allows both large distribution centers and smaller companies to use the system."
The success of the MicroSorter is partly due to the cooperation between FarmaSort and Collo-X, two specialists in logistics automation. "The basis of this system lies in the healthcare sector, with the previously developed SpeedFilling machine - specially designed for pharmacies - serving as a blueprint. By further developing this expertise, the MicroSorter has been made more widely applicable and suitable for a variety of logistics applications."
Interested parties can see the MicroSorter at work during Logimat, (March 11 - 13 in Stuttgart) in Hall 5 (Booth number 5F41).
