Innovations at LogiMAT and Empack

Inventor of the stretch wrapper and box erectors for angle boxes

The logistics world is crying out for smart machines, such as box and lid erectors and stretch wrappers. The reason? The continuous need to work more efficiently. Lantech will show at LogiMAT and the Empack in 2026 how solutions from the end-of-line machine builder can help improve logistics processes.

Lantech is the inventor of both the stretch wrapper and the box set-up principle and supplies these machines worldwide. The company has production sites in Malden, the Netherlands, and Louisville, USA. Lantech has three product groups: carton erectors and closers, tray erectors and lidders, and stretch wrappers. The company provides service and maintenance through an extensive partner network. Whereas in the past Lantech mainly served the industry with smart and reliable equipment, it has now emphatically added the logistics sector. Sales manager Benelux Henk van der Ven and sales director Europe Pierre Jentjens: “Turnover in the logistics sector is growing fast. Certainly in the last six to eight years it has been booming business.”

Parcel Pack System

In an industry that is constantly looking at how to make processes smarter and more effective, there is an increasing focus on machines that take over human actions. The Parcel Pack system makes parcel logistics faster, in part because it can process up to a thousand trays and lids per hour. Van der Ven: “The trays can be filled by both employees and robots and fit through the letterbox. The Parcel Pack system simplifies letterbox parcel logistics, lowers shipping costs and reduces cardboard procurement costs.”

Matching boxes, faster and reliable production

The strides that logistics companies have already been able to make thanks to smart machines are great. Still, the eye remains on further steps. Jentjens: “Earlier, a random box was chosen and a product was shipped to the end customer in it. Now companies are making more effective choices, choosing a few types of boxes that fit virtually the entire assortment. These boxes then go through production much faster. It's great to see how, for example, the box erection machines and member applicators we make in Malden are helping companies worldwide.”

Greater predictability, lower probability of error

Lantech advises companies on box selection and methods. “We always work with boxes that are squared, with ninety-degree angles. That makes them sturdier, easier to fill and close. The chance of error decreases and the predictability of the process increases. Our customers expect consistent quality, which we deliver. Building a warehouse may cost fifty to a hundred million euros, then of course boxes should not stand still.” To make the box erectors as compatible as possible with the activities of a logistics operation, Lantech can provide them with three hundred possible options. “That makes the machine very widely applicable.”

Production more intuitive

Predictability and convenience are core values. Convenience is visible, among other things, in the possibilities offered by the latest pallet wrapper, the QL400XT. Jentjens: “Users can pre-program the machine with profiles, so that, for example, an employee on a forklift can use a remote control to indicate which pallets the machine should wrap. The wrapping profiles feature different colors.”

Working with partners

At the two trade shows, Lantech will not only showcase the capabilities of the box erector and pallet wrapper, but also emphasize how the specialist works. Van der Ven: “At the fair, visitors will see that we work with a whole network of partners, including system integrators. Together we serve our customers in such a way that they can differentiate themselves from their competitors.”

At LogiMAT, Lantech can be found in Hall 1 - Booth 1B72.
