Roelofs Transport sees 60% fewer claims thanks to Samsara's real-time AI solutions

The international transportation firm has reduced the amount of litigation for its entire fleet and increased the efficiency and safety of its operations thanks to Samsara's Connected Operations™ Cloud.

 International transport company Roelofs Transport cooperates with Samsara, the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, to digitize business processes. With the implementation of Samsara's solutions - Dual-Facing AI dashcams, Mobile Experience Management and Fleet Telematics - Roelofs Transport has real-time visibility into the status of its trucks, leading to more efficient and safer fleet and transportation management.

Over the past few years, Roelofs Transport has developed from a family business to an international transport company with a fleet of more than 50 Scania trucks, providing transports between Italy and the Netherlands. Roelofs Transport faced a number of challenges: meeting driving and rest periods during long trips and incidents of vehicle and freight damage. This resulted in significant costs and a negative impact on the company's reputation. Therefore, Roelofs Transport looked for an advanced solution to track its growing fleet and gain insight into drivers' driving behavior. In this way, problems could be addressed effectively and in real time.

With Samsara's Vehicle Gateway, Roelofs has improved telematics functionality, optimized routes, improved customer service and eliminated fuel waste. As a result, Roelofs has reduced the number of processes in a standard delivery from 88 to just four. That amounts to a reduction of 95%, a significant reduction in workload and improvement in customer service. 

In addition, Samsara's dual-facing dashcams - with AI support - have reduced unsafe driving behavior and protect drivers in incidents caused by other road users. The In-Cab Coaching functionality provides drivers with immediate incident-based coaching. Better coaching of employees and the analysis of video images have reduced the number of damage claims at Roelofs Transport by 60%. This has also reduced the amount of insurance premiums.
