Tele Radio's well-known Panther and Tiger line has added a special brother: the Puma line. It is a radio remote control especially for hydraulic applications. The Puma transmitters cope well with the many control variables of modern construction equipment.
Whereas handheld transmitters work well for simple (machine) tasks, remote control of modern construction equipment is much more complicated. Tower and gantry cranes, excavators, all kinds of special vehicles (such as dump trucks, road plate loaders, vacuum trucks et cetera), but also, for example, rubble crushers, drainage machines and dredgers now use radio remote control. Where in particular the control of multiple hydraulic pumps and the multitude of applications of hydraulic equipment require a different approach.
With the Puma line, therefore, the handheld transmitter has been replaced by a larger belly transmitter with more options. Where some prefer to work with x-y paddles, others prefer joysticks and others want more flip switches. At the same time, we see a multitude of connection options (bus systems), preferably plug and play and in addition, the transmitter must also be easily programmable for the customer's specific applications.
Those specific applications led the developers of the Puma line to develop two lines. The Basic Line covers much of the market at an optimal price-performance ratio. The Custom line also allows for extensive customization. For example, the Custom line allows manufacturers to tailor the Puma transmitter entirely to their specific machine(s), including their own interpretation of the operating platform.
In this regard, safety plays a major role at the Tele Radio Group from home. Radio remote control of machines is safer in many respects, but the system must (continue to) function properly. For example, the emergency stop function must always work. Unlike many suppliers of machines and components, Tele Radio therefore has all products independently inspected by recognized testing agencies. The corresponding certificates (SIL3, Cat3, PLd or PLe) can be viewed on request.
