It came as a surprise, but a nice surprise, that Van Meeuwen Lubrication from Weesp will from now on supply the market in the Netherlands and Flanders with Panolin's biodegradable lubricants. Managing director Rogier van Meeuwen is justifiably "proud that we can add such a well-known Swiss brand to our portfolio."
Tim Lämmle, vice president of Panolin, thoroughly agrees with Rogier: "With this cooperation, we strengthen our position in the market for high quality biodegradable lubricants." He emphatically points out how much the market needs such lubricants: "Because the great advantages of high performance biodegradable lubricants have not yet landed with everyone in our industry."
Rogier endorses this wholeheartedly: "We share the same philosophy of the future and are now working hard to make the market more aware of the benefits of biodegradable lubricants. Because those are the future. However, oil and grease are often not at the top of the 'priority list' of many companies. So this collaboration may change that."
Realizing a financially important benefit for machine users as well, Rogier considers an essential part of the future philosophy Van Meeuwen shares with Panolin. "Many users of modern machines still give little thought to the fact that good lubricants are better for the Total Cost of Ownership and, in addition, for the environment. Standard oil changes every 500 or 2,000 hours still seem to be the norm, whereas nowadays this can sometimes be postponed up to 20,000 hours. For many machines, with good lubricants, 'filled for life' is even achievable, provided we ensure optimal conditions. But it can be done, as we see in practice."
The operational benefits of good biodegradable lubricants - Total Cost of Ownership - can be significant. Just to summarize: the higher reliability of machines results in fewer breakdowns thus less loss of time. The much lower oil consumption, a reduced amount of minor breakdowns, at the same time a higher work performance bring the costs down and ultimately provide a better return. More and more rental companies are realizing this as well; after all, it gives them less hassle and therefore happier customers, which is also coupled with lower maintenance and operating costs.
Bundled knowledge of market and product
Panolin has become a global brand. Key assets of the family-owned company, which has been active for more than seventy years, are its high performance biodegradable lubricants. According to Vice President Tim Lämmle, these have enormous market potential in the Netherlands and Flanders, hence his statement, "Together with Van Meeuwen, we will strengthen our presence in the market and upgrade our service capabilities.
Van Meeuwen Lubrication has been a specialist in reliable and increasingly customized lubrication solutions for almost 90 years. Innovation is leading and knowledge, services and a broad portfolio of lubricants of various renowned brands underline that. Rogier: "Naturally, existing Panolin customers will benefit from the great expertise and knowledge that our local team has built up. For our own customers, we are delighted that we can now also offer Panolin's portfolio of high performance oils and greases."
