Two innovations provide protection in explosion-prone areas
At ACHEMA, the leading process industry trade fair, Linde will present its latest innovations in explosion protection from June 10 to 14. For example, 3 compact electric pallet trucks will be shown to the public in Frankfurt, as will the Reverse Assist Camera safety system, which can now also be used in ATEX zones.
With the introduction of the Linde T16 EX - T20 EX series (equipment categories 2G/2D and 3G/3D), Linde MH is targeting the segment of compact pedestrian pallets for loads up to 2 tons. Characteristic of this type of pallet truck is that they can maneuver very quickly and easily through the smallest spaces, thanks to their narrow design, small turning radius and intuitive steering. Moreover, they have a robust chassis with reinforced forks, and are suitable for ATEX zones 1/21 and 2/22 due to their ignition protection against sparks, their continuous temperature monitoring and the active prevention of electrostatic charging.
In addition, the Linde Reverse Assist Camera safety system is also now available in explosion-prone areas, and can be installed on trucks of categories 2G/2D (ATEX zone 1/21) and 3G/3D (ATEX zone 2/22). This system has learned through artificial intelligence to distinguish between people and objects in the warehouse. If a person is detected, the operator receives both visual and audible warnings. In addition, an automatic reduction in travel speed can be activated to further minimize the risk of accidents.
'Demand for safety systems for explosion-proof industrial trucks has increased significantly in recent years', says Elke Karnarski, product manager at Linde MH. 'This is largely due to the fact that they are often part of a mixed fleet, which also includes manual lift or warehouse trucks. Existing assistance systems must be able to be installed on all vehicles to achieve a uniformly high level of safety.'
