"In those 25 years, I have stood at the foot of what is perhaps the biggest transition within the transportation industry. When I started at Volvo Trucks in 1995, we were still working with Euro 2 vehicles. The strides made in emissions and fuel efficiency since then have been truly enormous. And we're not there yet. We are now only at the beginning of a major transition to sustainable alternatives. A transition in which Volvo Trucks has a leading position. I am proud to have been able to contribute to this with VGTC," Kees Visser explains.

Roeland Ruygt has been appointed his successor and will take over as General Manager at Volvo Group Truck Center as of January 1, 2022. Roeland Ruygt joined Volvo Trucks in 2000 and has held various positions within both Volvo Group Truck Center and Volvo Trucks Netherlands. In December 2017, he advanced to the position of Director Volvo Trucks Vehicle Sales.

"The current transition to sustainable alternatives is making transportation companies' choice of vehicle type and specification increasingly complicated. Should they go for an alternative that is already available, wait for an even more sustainable powertrain or still go for an economical diesel engine now? Within VGTC I am closer to the market and together with my future team I will be able to support customers even better in their investments for a sustainable future while maintaining their profitability," explains Roeland Ruygt.
