Measuring and surveying

As a surveying firm, Holland Surveys from Heerhugowaard focuses mainly on surveying, measuring, deformation measurement and 3D scanning. Holland Surveys has now been in existence for 9 years and with its 11 employees has become a familiar face on many projects. Director Michael Rijpkema updates us on the highly varied services of the surveying firm.

"Our surveyors are regularly engaged in 'mapping' existing situations. For example, we have recorded many roads, residential areas, natural areas and (castle) gardens. The digital maps/drawings we produce are used by our clients for maintenance plans, redevelopment of areas or completely new landscape development."

Every challenge is addressed

In residential and commercial construction, Holland Surveys is involved in many projects for surveying and sizing work. "Sometimes we are already involved in a project during the design process. The work during the construction process ranges from setting out earthwork, piles, foundations and shafts to a wide variety of detailed measurements. We also take care of all common dimensional work in infra projects both on land and on water."

During the implementation of construction and infrastructure projects, a damage risk to the surroundings may arise as a result of vibrations or excavation work. "In order to identify excessive movements and deformations (deformations) of the environment in a timely manner, we are hired to monitor buildings, structures and roads and pavements. We tackle every challenge from simple settlement measurement with a level instrument to automatic unmanned monitoring systems."

3D laser scanners

"The 3D scans we make with our FARO Focus 3D laser scanner provide our clients with detailed accurate information. The point clouds can be used well when creating designs for remodeling, expansion and renovation projects. Of course, point clouds can also be used as a control tool (as-built measurement)."

"Customers who would like to perform some of the measurements themselves, with or without our guidance, we are also happy to help. We supply and rent instruments, accessories and software for almost all common surveying work. For this, we rely on the solutions provided by GeoMax and FARO. We offer these services to our customers through our sister company Geo Supplies."
