The market demand for EC-Oil has increased significantly

Being able to attach a swivel tilt or other hydraulic attachment without leaving the cab is becoming increasingly popular. Engcon's statistics show that demand for the EC-Oil automatic quick coupler system is growing significantly; during 2019 to 2020, sales of Engcon's automatic quick couplers increased 76 percent worldwide. This substantial increase indicates that automatic connectivity is growing in popularity worldwide.

The excavator industry continues to evolve and it is becoming increasingly commonplace to automatically connect or disconnect the rotary attachment or other hydraulic equipment directly from the cab. Interest in Engcon's solution that makes this possible, EC-Oil, has increased dramatically. Figures from the past two years show that sales of Engcon quick couplers with EC-Oil under the rotary attachment have increased by as much as 76 percent worldwide. More and more GWW companies are also opting for EC-Oil on the upper part of the turntable to be able to connect or disconnect it without having to leave the cabin. A similar development is visible for Engcon's machine attachment with EC-Oil, sales of which also increased significantly between 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

"These figures speak for themselves. More and more companies are realizing how efficient it is to quickly connect or disconnect a swivel tilt or other piece of equipment automatically. The operator also no longer has to struggle with pressurized hoses and dirty couplings," said Martin Engström, Product Manager at Engcon.

Martin Engström goes on to say that interest in EC-Oil in combination with Engcon's hydraulic attachments is growing around the world.

"This is incredibly gratifying, as we know it contributes to higher profitability, increased comfort and improved safety."

Great potential in the U.S.

One of the customers outside the Nordic region who realized the value of the swivel attachment with EC-Oil is Shamrock Earthworks Ltd. in Calgary, Canada, which is managed by Sean Coghlan. Since 2017, their excavators have been equipped with machine mounts and swivels from Engcon.

"With Engcon's swivel tilt piece, it doesn't matter what position the machine is in, I can easily place rocks in the exact location, for example. You could say the swivel tilt piece is the pulse of the excavator," says Sean Coghlan.

Sean equipped his turntable attachment early on with the EC-Oil automatic quick-change system, allowing him to connect and disconnect his hydraulic attachments from the cab. In addition to the convenience of easily changing between hydraulic grabs, pallet forks, sweepers, buckets, etc. under the swing tilt, it is just as easy to disconnect the swing tilt itself from the excavator.

"Thanks to EC-Oil, I can disconnect the swivel attachment in seconds and connect the bucket or other attachment directly to the machine mount. This way, I increase the breakout force and save weight at those times when I don't need the pivot attachment for my work. It makes my excavator more efficient and I save both fuel and time. Besides time and efficiency, it is also very comfortable to be able to attach hydraulic attachments without having to get out and get dirty," said Sean Coghlan.

Since 2020, EC-Oil has been included at no additional cost with the simultaneous purchase of an Engcon machine mount, swivel tilt and control system.
