'We are not catalog sellers'
As experts in lightability, Schréder accompanies its clients from A to Z in their search for smart lighting solutions. Reliable industrial LED lighting reduces maintenance costs and energy consumption, which Schréder guarantees. The process of arriving at the solution is at least as important as the result itself. This tailor-made personal approach scores.
At Schréder, giving a strong added value to the end user is paramount. Both on a technical and service level, the company can bring several trump cards to the table. "We are not catalog sellers," interjects Area Sales Manager Tom Daniëls. "We sell customized lighting solutions to our customers. We want to write a story together with them. That starts with a visit on site, where we look at what is technically possible. The result is a correct lighting study."
In terms of safety, the customer can sleep on both ears. "We guarantee that our lighting solution takes into account the applicable standards and at the same time the operating conditions. A storage unit where hazardous products are stored requires a different approach than a warehouse with food products, for example. Our employees know perfectly which lighting solutions can be used in which environmental conditions," Tom clarifies. After installation, Schréder is also responsible for commissioning the lighting control system. The lighting expert's after-sales also supports its customers in applying for relighting subsidies.
Today, by definition, LED solutions are being used. "This implies that you cannot replace the light source after it has been installed, as used to be possible with incandescent or fluorescent lamps. In se ís it technically possible but economically it is not feasible. The lifetime of a LED device is determined by its light source. This is why we strive to use LED technology with a very long service life. Where the market standard is 50,000 burning hours, we aim for double that for our solutions," says Tom.
A second part to the technical story is energy consumption. This varies according to the technical and energy characteristics of the LED luminaires. "It comes down to looking for those lighting solutions where the amount of light created by each watt of power is as high as possible," he says. Lifespan and energetic efficiency, by the way, are linked. If you have a light loss of 20% at the end of their lifetime, you need to oversize by one-fifth at the start. To keep this to a minimum, we sell luminaires whose efficiency as well as light retention is very high. Last but not least: in terms of control, our products comply with the two common market standards. In concrete terms, this means that our lighting solutions function on any control system of any brand." ■
