The use of automatic quick couplers means that more and more excavator operators prefer to disconnect the rotary attachment when additional digging or lifting force is useful. In such situations, it is then sometimes necessary to move the swivel attachment some distance away from the work area in view of working or terrain conditions. For this reason, Engcon now introduces a storage and transport rack for swivel tilt pieces.
To simplify transport and storage on different types of surfaces, Engcon has developed a convenient rack on which the operator can set the swivel tilt aside temporarily or for long periods of time.
"Since the introduction of our EC-Oil automatic quick-change system that comes standard on Engcon quick couplers and on the upper part of Engcon swivel tilt attachments, we have increasingly seen excavators disconnecting and connecting the swivel tilt according to the work to be done," says Martin Engström, product manager at Engcon.
This rack is made of strong sheet steel and can be equipped with a suspension of your choice. The rack is constructed so that complete with swivel tilt, it can be moved safely, and securely attached with a pallet fork on a wheel loader, compact loader or forklift, for example.
"The ease with which the excavator operator can connect and disconnect the swivel arm allows him to quickly and easily optimize his machine for the work to be done. In addition, this also protects the automatic couplings under the rotary attachment when it is on the transport and storage rack," says Martin Engström.
The transport and storage rack has a dimension of 1200 x 800 mm, as large as a Euro pallet and therefore fits into pallet racks designed for this purpose.
