All over the world, Avant articulated loaders are popping up on the scene. For construction, the Avant 860i is the most important machine rolling out of the modern factory in Ylöjärvi, Finland.
According to Bram van Hoof of Avant Netherlands, the Finnish articulated loader brand is pushing the boundaries of the compact articulated loader with the 860i. "The machine has a lifting capacity of as much as 1,900 kilograms, both extended and tilted, and a lifting height of up to 3.5 meters. It may be a very compact machine, but with a high
hydraulic flow and a travel speed of up to 30 km/h. With a dead weight of 2,540 kg, it can also be easily transported on a trailer."
Besides the standard ROPS/FOPS cab, there is also the optional GT cab: a modern, vibration- and noise-insulated comfort zone for the driver, which can be equipped with air conditioning, among other things. The GT cab is mounted to the chassis with rubber mounts, keeping vibration and noise levels very low. Rear visibility is improved thanks to the larger rear windows. The cab comes standard with heating, sound-absorbing interior, wiper and washer, air filter and front and rear fenders.
According to Van Hoof, the Finnish Avant is an outside category articulated loader. "You can lift, move, dig, brush or mow with it. And there are more than two hundred attachments. Thanks to the rigid articulation point and the driver's seat placed on the front part of the chassis, the entire rear chassis acts as one big counterweight. This results in an unprecedented lifting capacity, which is the same both straight and articulated."
Sitting at the front of the machine has the advantage that the operator has a good view of the work, something that is enhanced by the eccentric arm, which does not obstruct the operator's view. Avant now has eighteen service centers and a central parts warehouse in Belgium. Van Hoof: "Fast service is therefore always nearby and the delivery of spare parts is just as fast."
The Finns are not left behind in terms of sustainability either. The Avant e6 is their all-electric model, making it ideally suited for demolition work in small and confined spaces. In the Netherlands, the e6 is also on the MIA/Vamil list, making it fiscally attractive. Van Hoof: "The Avant e6 contributes to the environmentally friendly character of a company and helps when awarding public tenders. Because then the machinery can be charged to reduce the ecological footprint of a project and reduce CO2 and nitrogen emissions."
SPIDER AWPS
The same Finnish Avant Techno Group also produces the Leguan Lift spider work platforms. Available in the Netherlands are the Leguan 190 and the Leguan 135 NEO models. They are technologically advanced self-propelled boom lifts. Leguan meanwhile has a long tradition in this field; the first self-propelled boom lift with support legs was introduced in 1994. Each spider elevator is designed with off-road capabilities and a robust arm structure, making Leguans suitable for any passage. Leguans are built to withstand all weather conditions and reach up to 19 meters in height while carrying 230 kg.
