Engcon has always been committed to its employees and their local communities. With corona challenging the daily lives of both people and businesses, Engcon chooses to support locally by choosing a Christmas gift for Engcon's approximately 300 employees. "It is not enough that only the company and its employees feel good, if we want to succeed our local communities must also feel good," says Krister Blomgren, CEO of Engcon.
The year 2020 turned out very differently than anyone could have imagined. With a recession looming, many were prepared for a difficult year from the start, but it would turn out that Covid-19 would change everything. The year was marked by uncertainty, layoffs and a more difficult existence. Restrictions were imposed, cutbacks were made, there were supply problems and investment fears, which made work for many enormously difficult. Engcon now wants to thank its hard-working employees, and in the meantime work for local entrepreneurs in the places where Engcon has a presence. Therefore, this year's Christmas gift for our employees is a locally spendable gift certificate.
"There is a great need for support and a strong willingness on our part to show our gratitude, both to our employees and to the local communities where we operate. Therefore, we have now chosen "locally focused" Christmas gifts for our employees, designed to support local stores and businesses," says Krister Blomgren, CEO of Engcon Group.
Throughout the year, the staff has given 100 percent, Engcon has seen that and wants to thank them for it with a Christmas gift that both expresses our appreciation for the employees and does good for the area where the employee lives. "We are in a position that we can support, thanks to the fact that we immediately put the brakes on our customary loyalty when we saw that it was going to be a difficult year.
Fortunately, things have not gone as badly as we first thought, but this pandemic has presented us with real challenges with limitations and disruptions. Our employees around the world have been fully committed to this. We are incredibly grateful for that," said Krister Blomgren, CEO Engcon Group, and continued: "I am deeply impressed by our employees and how they have handled the situations that have arisen. This is also why we decided that we should thank them with a slightly bigger gift than usual. They are worth it!"
Specifically, Engcon employees will receive a gift certificate that can be spent at local business owners in the area where Engcon has a presence, rather than a massive purchase of the same Christmas gift for all employees. "It is not enough that only the company and its employees feel good, we can only be successful if our local communities also feel good. It feels good that we have made this decision," says Krister Blomgren. Engcon has a presence in a total of 12 locations, from Strömsund in northern Sweden and Mennecy in France to Hamden on the other side of the Atlantic in Connecticut, USA.
