The tenth edition of the Recycling trade show at Evenementenhal Gorinchem has been very positive, according to exhibition organizer Easyfairs. The event is picking up in line with social developments and the need for a more effective, safe and circular waste chain. After several editions where the trade fair stabilized, Trade Fair Recycling managed to achieve substantial growth in both exhibitor numbers and the number of relevant visitors. Nearly 5,000 waste professionals came to Evenementenhal Gorinchem on November 20, 21 and 22 to network and discover the new products and solutions for everyone's waste streams. Issues that have become even more important for this market, given the current events surrounding PFAS, circularity, the PlasticPact, fire safety and upcoming legislation for waste separation at companies, among others.
"Recycling" is the national trade fair for recycling technology and waste management. Among the 4,814 visitors were professionals within the waste industry and those responsible for waste management at companies with large waste streams. That's almost 300 more than last year. The exhibitor count also increased by 15% to 157," said Debbie de Bruijn on behalf of Easyfairs. "When we look at the visitor quality, we are very satisfied. We also heard that back from our exhibitors. They had many good conversations and met (new) relations. It's positive to see that we struck a significant blow in this respect. Moreover, the trade fair is more and more embraced and seen again as the networking opportunity for the waste market, look for example at the collaborations and the well-attended side events with BRBS Recycling Symposium and the VERAS symposium on Circular demolition. Metal Recycling Federation and ENVAQUA also held their general membership meeting during the fair."
Not only did the Recycling trade show floor consist of more than 150 exhibitors, it also featured a quality knowledge program. Several sessions were well attended in the knowledge theater, which was set up centrally on the exhibition floor. Among the topics addressed were safety and insurable waste handling. There was also a lot of interest in circular demolition during the VERAS symposium. Top experts from chemical recycling also attracted full houses. This involved close cooperation with TNO, NRK Recycling and PlasticsEurope.
The demo area was part of the trade fair for the second year in a row. De Bruijn: "The demonstrations on the outdoor area were a hit. This addition to the fair has become very mature compared to last year. There was a lot of interest from the market for the working machines. We will organize this initiative again in 2020."
The Recycling trade show returns in 2020 on November 17, 18 and 19 at Evenementenhal Gorinchem. For more information:www.recyclingvakbeurs.nl.
