From stacking pallets to securing loads: hand injuries remain a major risk in the logistics industry. Due to rapid innovations in materials, choosing the right safety glove today requires real expertise.
In the world of transportation and logistics, choosing the right safety gloves requires more and more expertise. Always keep the following points in mind: First, there is finger sensitivity, indicated as ‘Gauge.’ Opt for at least ‘Gauge 13’; for picking particularly small objects, you can even choose ‘Gauge 21.’ Second is cut resistance. Innovative yarns offer high protection against sharp packaging and objects without sacrificing flexibility. Third, there is impact protection: essential padding on the back of the hand prevents serious crush injuries from roll containers or tailgates. Finally, the choice of coating is also important: PU, for example, is suitable for fine, dry precision work, whereas nitrile is better suited for use in damp or oily environments. As an innovative global player, Delta Plus brings together the best of all worlds: maximum tactile sensitivity, optimal cut resistance, and superior impact protection.

The most important European Standard for hand protection is EN 388: “Protective gloves against mechanical risks.” You can recognize the standard by the shield icon depicting a hammer striking an anvil. The marking below the EN 388 icon consists of four digits and one or two letters. The four digits represent abrasion resistance (0–4), cut resistance (‘Coupe test’) (0–5), tear resistance (0–4), and puncture resistance (0–4). The first of the two letters indicates ISO cut resistance; the second letter indicates impact protection, with the letter P standing for ‘Passed’ for all types of impact-resistant gloves.
