'When Only The Best Is Good Enough'. Based on this baseline, MTC-Trans, a young transport company from Sint-Katelijne-Waver, offers high-quality and reliable transport and warehousing services. Punctual, flexible and with an eye for a personal approach. And with a focus on smart digital tools to make the customer experience even better. Managing director Yahya Amri is very ambitious to grow his company in a healthy way, also beyond the national borders.
The story of MTC-Trans begins in October 2019, when Yahya Amri christens his own transportation company. With nearly a quarter-century of experience as a consultant in the logistics and e-commerce sector, he can assess what a successful logistics and transportation project should look like better than anyone else. He also knows the specific customer expectations. "MTC stands for 'My Transport Consult,' where I and my team want to provide maximum relief to customers for the delivery of large packages," Yahya said. "That is our specialty, and this through both one-man and two-man deliveries. When we started our company, we worked as a subcontractor for large market players. In 2021, we made the switch to direct customer deliveries, with both owned and self-employed drivers. Thanks to that mix of permanent and hired employees, we respond smoothly to busy peak periods."
The mission of Yahya and his employees is clear: to be a reliable partner for storing and transporting goods as sustainably as possible, with an eye for flexibility and an outstanding customer experience. Here, digitization and personal contact go hand in hand. "With that synergy between IT and a personalized approach, you can really make a difference," Yahya points out. "During my career, I grew at large couriers from sorter to sales manager and regional manager. This is how I acquired a lot of useful knowledge, including how to set up collection points in a commercially attractive way. That's why at MTC-Trans we spare no expense to align digital tools and human communication as well as possible."
One of those digital tools is a powerful transportation management system. With it, the transport company optimizes loads and delivery routes, tracks freight and automates time-consuming repetitive tasks. Yahya: "Thanks to our investments in the 'Urbantz' TMS software, we communicate with our customers and suppliers in complete transparency. They appreciate this enormously because, for example, they can track the position of an MTC-Trans driver in real time. That real-time track-and-trace service gives the customer experience a huge boost! Call it service 2.0, towards a future-proof transport service." Making a delivery appointment - including reminders upon delivery - is also done quickly and efficiently, courtesy of digital technology. "Since no telephone follow-up is needed anymore, this saves us two full-time employees," says Yahya. "This gives us room within MTC-Trans to focus extra on our core activities, with tasks that offer our customers real added value. Our personal approach and far-reaching flexibility are assets that I and my team want to continue to build on."
MTC-Trans excels in long-distance transport in the Benelux - with France and Spain also coming into its sights as markets. It also offers warehousing facilities. Yahya: "We currently have three strategically well-located warehouses in Antwerp, Brussels and Liège. There we store goods from suppliers awaiting delivery, well secured and in the best conditions. Our team is also always on standby for the storage of larger volumes."
In a future-proof transport firm like MTC-Trans, the aspect of sustainability obviously cannot be missing. How is Yahya tackling this? "For now, as a relatively young market player, we cannot yet invest heavily in an electric fleet. For urban transport, however, we are already deploying CNG vehicles. At the same time, we provide our clients with a monthly report on our CO2-emissions. This is how we keep awareness of sustainable transport high on the agenda. We also pay a lot of attention to loading our vans and trucks as efficiently as possible, including grouped shipments whenever possible. Thanks to mapping out smart driving routes and sufficient service time for our drivers, we are doing our bit for a greener transport sector."
