With the rollout of the Multi-Annual Strategic Plan for Customs (MASP-C) - read: the multi-year strategic plan for electronic customs - the EU aims to do away with all paper customs procedures within member states by 2025. In this process of more efficiency, fewer errors and quick customs formalities, Stream Software has for many years been the trusted partner for companies doing international business. Thanks to customers throughout the Benelux, the team has a wealth of expertise and practical experience.
Since 1997, Stream Software has been providing innovative software solutions that simplify and optimally align logistics and customs processes. From offices in Antwerp, Rotterdam and Eindhoven, a team of around 70 employees develops and markets a wide range of modular software solutions designed to address the challenges of modern (international) supply chains; from customs declarations to inventory management, and from transport optimization to compliance management.
CCO Sam Jespers: "We see our customers as partners with whom we work intensively to optimize their operational and financial business processes. In the Benelux we have about 250 customers. These are both small SMEs and large shippers who need to manage complex production and customs processes. With our software packages, entrepreneurs are able to streamline internal business processes, reduce costs and minimize errors."
Stream Software's flagship product is the Customer Streamliner®, a one-stop customs and excise software solution that automates customs procedures and administration. "We developed one integrated solution with a unified user interface that supports all customs declarations and procedures for Benelux," said Sam. "The Customer Streamliner® can be integrated with shippers' ERP software such as SAP, J.D. Edwards and Navision and, of course, Stream Software's own ERP system. In addition to this declaration software, we also offer the Customs Dossier solution. That can support all customs procedures based on scenarios, rights and parameters."
"With the rollout of the MASP-C pathway, the importance of robust and agile customs declaration software is ever increasing," says Sam.
"The rapidly changing customs regulations are putting all parties in the sector on edge. For Belgium, we expect the focus of MASP-C to be in the third and fourth quarters of this year, with the likely implementation of IDMS (Information and Data Management System) which will replace PLDA for the import section, and AES (Automated Export System) aimed at automating export procedures within the EU. We have already gone through a transition period in the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and we are taking those lessons to the Belgian market. Through internal task forces and working groups, we are shifting up a gear within Stream Software to prepare our customers for this new way of working."
Stream Software's team is always ready to guide customers through the software implementation process. It also provides training and ongoing technical and functional support. "This way, our customers always get the most out of our software and can respond quickly to new logistics challenges and opportunities," concludes Sam.
